Quotable

God is infinitely knowable, for He is infinite Truth; and we are forever on fire to know the truth that is still unknown, to search further, unappeased by anything less that the whole truth, infinite truth. Walter Farrell, My Way of Life.

What would make Christianity unique is an absolute sense, with no possible historic rival, would be for Jesus to be what is claimed of him - the one and only Son of God, God who has come in the flesh; and to have done what is affirmed for him - to have brought a salvation and relationship with God that no one else than the Son of God could have brought. Everett Ferguson, Backgrounds of Early Christianity

“The one who comes from above is naturally above everybody. The one arises from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks from the earth. The one who comes from Heaven is above all others and he bears witness to what he has seen and heard - yet no one is accepting his testimony. Yet if a man does accept it, he is acknow-ledging the fact that God is true. For the one whom God sent speaks for the authentic words of God - and there can be no measuring of the Spirit given to HIM! The Father loves the Son and has put everything into his hand. The man who believes in the Son will have eternal life. The man who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; he lives under the anger of God.” John 3:31-36, Phillip’s Modern English New Testament

Psalm 119 introduction/Aleph

October 30th, 2007

For those who are not familiar with Psalm 119, it is the longest of the psalms in the Bible. There are twenty-two stanzas of eight verses each making it 176 vs long. Each of the twenty-two stanza are named after a letter in the Hebrew alphabet. The author is believed to be Ezra and that is probably correct because of the style of prose used.

Although it was written for the restored people of Jerusalem and the Jewish returning from captivity, it applies itself to the Christian church of today. The theme of the text is to stay obedient to God’s Law and to the covenant of Faith that guides us in our walk. WE are to stay in the will and purpose of God even as the world is tearing at each others throats. Only in God’s law can we find true and complete happiness. Only God’s will is real happiness. The word blessing actually means happiness. We just cant comprehend the happiness that God imagines for us so we use blessings instead. to differentiate the worldly happiness and God’s Happiness.

Holy, Wholly, wHOLY and what 4?

October 29th, 2007

The name of my site, Wholy 4 Christ is a combination of a play on words and the fact that I can’t spell. It is as simple as that. What I sort of want to convey is that: To be holy in Christ, you first must be wholly for Christ.

The four ways I know God are the ways I have striven to become holy and Wholly for Christ.

1. RESPOND WITH REASON AND TO THE REASON OF GOD. I first know God because of the reasoning power he endowed me with. God created us to reason and through that reason we can know of God.

2. ENDEAVOR TO EXPERIENCE GOD. My journey to know God was completed when I finally experienced God’s Love and His Mercy. God wants us to experience Him first hand.

3. SEEK HIS SALVATION THROUGH SCRIPTURES. All mankind seeks God, but it is through scriptures that we learn of Him and of His plan for us. It is through scriptures that we know of God’s purpose for man. And….

4. TREAD IN THE TRADITIONS OF CHRISTIAN LIVING. We learn from the way others before us have lived, loved and served the very God we seek. Each generation adds their Godly experience, love and service to our understanding and growth, so cherish them.

So there you have it. that is why the web site is called Wholy4Christ. Bless you all and R.E.S.T. in His Name.

Wholeness-Peace /#2

October 27th, 2007

Matthew 5:6-9. Happy are those who hunger and thirst for what is right:they will be satisfied. Happy are those who are pure of heart:they will see God. Happy are the peacemakers:they will be called sons of God. (TJB)

Psalm 85:10. “Love and Faithfulness meet together and righteousness and peace kiss each other. (NIV)

PEACE is among the firsts in my understanding of the Wholeness Nature of God. Peace is the creation of a bond that places us within the will of Jesus. Even before I lost my Faith, we saw that Jesus was a pacifist. That was a primary cause for my seeing Christianity as a failure. Christ sought peace and in his name we made war upon each other. For any church that claims Christ as its authority to initiate armed conflict is, in my mind, using Christ unjustly. The use of war to protect and defend is one thing, but to start war is always wrong.

Wholeness/Thy Lovingkindness /#1

October 25th, 2007

Psalm 115:1 Not to us O Lord, not to us but to Thy Name give Glory because of thy Lovingkindness, because of thy truth.

When I am praying and can find nothing to be in prayer about, when ever I am at a loose end and draw a blank, while wanting for the Spirit of God to guide me I draw near to Psalm 136. I just make statements like the sun is shining or I hear a bird chirping. Even little things like that can draw me to God because I can follow those simple line with the cantor of Psalm 136, Thy Lovingkindness endures forever. These words give a reason to praise God and to give to Him all Glory. Here is the truth of the Word. This is the single purpose of Christ. God’s Lovingkindness endures forever. God did not need to save us from our sins or our nature. He did not need to make covenants with Abraham, Moses, David or Isaiah. He chose to shower us with His Lovingkindness. His Grace is a free gift because He created us to be his children.

Psalm 133

October 25th, 2007

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Arron’s beard. down on the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forever. (NIV)

I dream of the day when all who claim Jesus as their God and Redeemer can stand together without fear or condemnation. Martin Luther King had a dream. My dream is that all Christians can live with peach and love for each other. When I heard a pastor of a Holiness church mock the theology of a Calvinist church that was destroyed in a recent fire, I was sickened. This was not the brotherly unity that David cried for. This is not the Holiness that Christ called us to. This was and will forever been the voice of Satan dividing us so as to lead us into false expectations of self righteousness.

Phil. 2:5-8. Your attitude should the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who being in the very nature of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself NOTHING, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in the appearance as a man, humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross. (NIV)

“It is only when we realize our nothingness, our emptiness, that god can fill us with Himself. When we become full of God, then we can give God to others, for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.” - Teresa of Calcutta

Malachian observation

October 24th, 2007

While reading Malachi this week I made a couple observations I want to share. Although they are not directly connected with the message of the prophet, they do reflect on my views of Wholeness Witnessing.

Malachi 1:10, 11. “I wish that some among you would shut the Temple doors so that these worthless sacrifices could not be offered! I am not at all pleased with you.” says the Lord Almighty, “and I will not accept your offerings. But My name is honored by people of other nations from morning to night. All around the world they offer me sweet incense and pure offerings in honor of My Name,” says the Lord Almighty. (NLT)
