Psalm 119:25-32/Daleth

December 18th, 2007

I am laid low in the dust;
preserve my life according to your word.
I recounted my ways and you answered me;
teach me your decrees.
Let me understand the teachings of your precepts;
then I will meditate on your wonders.
My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your law.
Keep me from deceitful ways;
be gracious to me through your law.
I have chosen the way of the truth;
I have set my heart on your laws.
I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD;
do not let me be put to shame.
I run in the path of your commands,
for you have set my heart free.
(NIV)

Be revived in the way of God’s Word. Awaken yourselves to a full life according to the law that is set by God. We are dust compared to the might and wisdom of the Lord. Yet we still seek to be important in the eyes of the Almighty. Why is that? It is because it is the nature of man to be above everything else in the world and we forget that God is NOT OF THE WORLD, BUT THE CREATOR OF IT. We need to be “someone” yet we are still only dust.

Not only does the soul of man seek to compare itself to God, but mankind clings to the dust of the world, like mites in the dust, feeding on the corruption of the flesh. God’s Wisdom and Grace lifts us out of the corruption and the decay of the world and places us into life eternal. God lifts us out of the flesh and into the perfect life that is Christ. Rebuke that which is folly and temporal in our lives, chastise the weakness, the reckless and the wickedness that is our lives. Humble ourselves that we are removed from the desires of self and let us learn to love His law.

Seek refreshment in the commandments of God. Desire the righteousness of God’s Will in our lives, not for our sakes, but for the sake of the covenant set by God.
when we realize this, we seek to be revived in His Love. We are made anew in His Word. So we tell God that we know that we are nothing, and we conform to His will. We acknowledge that we are failures in His Way and we ask; :What am I to do?” And He answers; “Learn My Ways, learn my decrees, learn MY LOVE!” And we say, “Teach me how to meditate on Your laws. how to contemplate on Your Goodness.”

How are we to be faithful? Not by saying we believe (because doesn’t Satan believe?) but by being in His Way., living in the law of His Perfect Love. We are to fulfill the promise given to us to live as Christ in all things. So we ask; that we be made strong - not in body but in mind. Let our Faith be in your will of righteous living. Allow the Grace of God guide us and hold us in God’s Love. For the gift of Jesus is the work of the Father’s Hand.

Our prayer should be that God takes away the falseness the ruled and ruined our lives before we knew Jesus. Take away those lies that we lived, take away the wrongness that dictates our existence and perpetuated our sinful ways. Grant us instead a closeness to God that enjoins us to God and to His Law, that law that is given not with the desire to control us, but so that we can live free in closeness to Jesus.

Our prayer is that we choose to follow, we choose to obey, we choose to declare the Love of Jesus so that others may choose to join in the love BECAUSE GOD FIRST CHOSE TO LOVE US! As a child of Christ, to be faithful is to Love God’s Law.
Where I am wrong, discipline me.
When I am weak in the Will, strengthen me.
When I become to comfortable in my faith, awaken my desire.
And when I think to much of myself, remind me that I am dust without You.

And when we feel like standing still, let God make us run to His Law and shout from the highest places, “God is Good, and His Law still my troubled heart.” Let us turn to the law and share the Love that is Jesus by our words, wills, actions and praises. as God has commanded us to Love Him and to love our fellow man, let us do as Jesus did. Let us share in God’s
Grace by giving of His Love in always.

The New Living Translation reads verses 29-30 as; “Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your law. I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your laws.” Are we lying to ourselves when we play at being Christians and do not give our whole self to the service and love of God’s? Do we practise e to deceive each other and still live in the flesh? Did we forget that to be in Christ, we are to be contrite (that is to completely turn ourselves around)and begin a new life with Christ as our center and the Law of God’s Mercy and Grace as the focus point of our existence? Set aside the wasted lives that we have endured and turn our faces to the one Redemption that is Christ. Conform the will that distracts us from God and His law. Christ came not to abolish the Law but to fulfill it that we might have live in the fullest(John 10:10)He came so that we might have a life of harmony and be perfected in the design of God’s wondrous will. Christ set aside everything so that we might have understanding of the Law - that is God’s LOVE - and see that in His Law there is Love and Peace. My enemies have no power over the righteousness of my Savior.

who is God that He should care for the likes of me? Who is the Lawgiver that seeks my Heart? the same that seeks all of us. Why do we worship, love and serve the One who sit in judgment over us? Because we owe God everything. He is worthy of all love, more than I can ever give.

Choose the way - The Way of the LORD!
Adhere the command - the commandment to love.
Run to His Word with delight.
Cling to the truth - The Truth of God, the Godliness of my life, the constant word of right.
CHOOSE TRUTH!

Choose the truth that God’s love is unchanging so that we might be able to share His Goodness and Mercy. In that is the love to sing praises of His precepts. God has set me free from the desires of the world. May we keep ourselves, with the Holy Spirit, in His Way. May we forever praise His law and accept the Promise of Jesus, life fulfilled in His Glory.
