A thought on Leviticus
I just finished reading my new issue of “Christianity Today” and wanted to quote something Daniel Harrell wrote on his article on Leviticus, He wrote: “The Law’s purpose was never to save anyone. Rather, its purpose was to show saved people how to live a saved life.”
The magazine also quoted Tony Hall (former U.S. ambassador) in saying, “There’s over 2,500 verses in the Bible that deal with the issue of helping the poor, the sick, the hungry. God set it up that we are to address this issue and that he works through us. His ‘Plan B’? Well, I don’t know what plan ‘B’ is. Plan ‘A’ is the way he set it up.”
I’m going to take up Daniel Harrell’s 30 day challenge and read, live and write on Leviticus this month (Aug). I will also write on other things, but the focus will be on the Law and living the Christian Life through Leviticus.

I haven’t read the article so my comments may not apply in context of the article but I would disagree with Daniel Hall’s comment. I would say, “The Law’s purpose was never to save anyone. Rather, its purpose was to show people, they can not save themselves”.
I highlight that I’m referring to the PURPOSE of the law. There are other uses and benefits to the law but that does not equate it’s purpose.
