Asking for Prayers

I want to give praise to God and thanksgiving for the prayer concert we had in our community center last Friday. It was the first of its kind in the mobile park and the presence of God was felt by everybody. Because it was such a blessing and the joy of the Holy Spirit was obvious, we are thinking that we shall do it again once the weather cools down a bit.

This weeks prayer list includes some very disturbing events;

1. Gao Zhisheng – and other lawyers who were disbarred for defending Christians from unjust charges. (China)
2. Leonid Voronenko – whose church was fined for having “illegal activities”, a prayer meeting. (Belarus)
3. Global Action Camps – for continued success in reaching out to hardened orphans who have never known the Love of Jesus or anybody else. (Ukraine)
4. Pnina Conforti – Messianic Jew who finally won her battle to operate a kosher bakery in Jerusalem after a long battle with Orthodox Jewish officials. (Israel)
5. Assyrian and other churches in Iraq – seven churches were bombed recently in Mosel and other neighborhoods. Pray for the protection of the rights of the Christian community. (Iraq)
6. Families of murdered Christian aid workers – Rita Stumpp, Anita Gruenwald and Young Sun, who were kidnapped and the slain. Also pray for the lives and safety of Johannes and Sabine Sabine and the their three small children, Lydia, Anne and baby Simon who were also kidnapped and are still missing. (Yemin)

“I urge you, first of all to pray for all people. as you make your requests, plead for God’s mercy upon them, and give thanks.” 1 Tim 2:1
