Again I say to the wicked, “you shall surely die,” yet if he turns from his sin and does what is right, if the wicked restores the pledge, give back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the sins he has committed shall be remembered against him Ezekiel 33:14-16
We live in perilous times. Islamic and Hindus as well as anti-god societies have declared war on Christ. In Nations we once called freinds, those who try and live in Christ are being tortured and killed, their daughters are being raped and forced into false marriages and women are being thrown into prison because they profess Jesus as Lord and reject their gods.
Yet even in these terrors, God says, “Turn from your evil ways and turn to righteousness and do what is just and I will forgive and I will never remember these horrors that you have done.” Isaiah give us the promise to the Nations, “I am the LORD; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give to you a covenant for the people, as light for the nations.” Isaiah 42:6. Thus it shall be for the promise that we receive from Paul is that some day all the Nations of the world will recognize Christ as the Son of the Most High and seek Him. Yet we will undergo many trials, horrendous torment and suffer captivity and even death. Yet those who give their lives for Christ shall be the first to rise from the dead.
Yet we are to pray for the unsaved that they may turn from their unrighteousness and seek the Truth of God, the Word of His Testaments, the Glory of His Wisdom: “Love God with your whole mind, body and spirit; and love one another as you would love yourselves.” Against these truths, no man can make law. Without these, there is no law only captivity and injustice. Even as we try to make law without the hand of God, we only mock His wisdom.
While some declare that immorality is normal and deviance is “natural”, God declares that Nations will rise up against them. In the wickedness that we declare as the norm, He will let those who are more evil than us to come and lay waste upon us. Yet even in these times, He will rise up righteous people to turn against the evil in the land and restore the people to Him. Paul tells us, “If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife (not divorced),sober minded, self controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach.” 1 Tim 3:2-3
The USA has for many decades, turned a blind eye to the injustice and degeneration of Faith. We justified divorce on demand, Homosexuality and perversion. We want to legalize drug use and promote sex without marriage and condone families without responsibilities. We complain about children having children yet stop programs to prevent it. We even accept as our leaders, the very people who promote sexual immorality and live in denial of God’s Law.
And yet we wonder why those other Nations mock us, defame us and attack us. Until we live as a Nation Under God, we lie to God and to each other. We are not a Christian nation, we are a Nation of Sin. Until we, as a people, turn to God in all our decisions, we will continue to live as a Nation of Sin. We can not expect our leaders, our President, our Congress to act in the will of Godly choices until we as a people do so ourselves.
We must purge from ourselves, the sinful nature that plagues us and return to calling sin what it is, A DEFIENCE OF GOD’S WILL
As Nations try to seperate themselves from God, by passing laws that reject His teachings or justify wrongness, they only weaken themselves. Thus, when nations pass laws that restrict freedoms or make laws that condone wrong living styles, they defy and deny God. But the laws begin with the people, we must be people of integrity before we can expect our leader to be righteous. We must be the people of Paul’s teaching, “Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife (not divorced), sober-minded, self controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach.” We as individuals must first become the overseers of our ways, we must change our outlooks on life and society and bring change about our homes, communities and our towns. While Paul is speaking of the elders of the Church, the same rules should apply to every place of leadership.
As I stated, it begins at home. When our own houses are in order, we can then concentrate on the elected leaders. When those who are chosen by us are the representatives of morality and wisdom rather than those who exhibit the most charm, or power then we can be a godly nation. We need to turn the tide away from decadence and immorality and return to a people who respect Godly understanding.
The problem of the Religious Right was that they chose to select a political party as God Spoken rather than use their strength as people of God and promote godly people in both parties. As a result. ungodly people were elected because they claimed to be just. while good men and women were forced to flee the other party or face rejection because they belonged to the “devil’s party.”
Now in America, we can change that. We can go to both parties and say, do what is right before God. But the problem in America is the same problem in Europe. Those who wish to promote what is evil before God are taking over the courts, parliaments and government houses. In some cases the people were unaware that these things where happening. In Asia and Africa, tyrants are running villages and states, where there can be little freedom. In the Near and Middle East, Islam Radicals have replaces common decency with outdated and inherent evil laws that demean, and dehumanize women, and non Islamics.
We must as people of God, rebel and pray against these. As lovers of the Peace of Jesus, we are to withstand the onslaught of vile laws by remaining faithful to the Law of Love that was given to us by Christ Jesus. Just because the law says sin is lawful does not mean that it is lawful for us. The governments are unjustified in promoting sin but we still are justified in obeying God’s laws and rejecting the sin.
Pray that this Nation will turn from its sins and return to the Law that God gave to Moses and the prophets and to the understanding of Law given by Christ, so that we can be called a Christian Nation once more. Pray that the President will make those choices that reflect Godliness rather than might, that he will use justice and wisdom ion preserving our Nation and that he will pas no laws that reflect an embrace of sin.
